The walls in the Rain Desert are adorned with scores
of Jan's paintings. These are portraits of musicians and serve
as a tribute to his heroes. Since the restaurant opened in 2001,
Jan has sold many of his paintings off the walls of the club -
In addition, Jan has created several murals for the Rain Desert,
as well as hand painting the walls and ceiling of the club to
creae a one of a kind environment for dining and music.
According to Jan, "My vision was to create a colorful
oasis, a cool setting who's vibe would be conducive to good times
and live music. Essentially, I wanted to put forth a uniqueness
that could only be accomplished in a hand painted club".
